I’m a life-long learner who has seen my own educational path veer and detour into places both good and bad, productive and unproductive. I’ve personally experienced the effect that teaching and learning styles can have on an academic career. I have both failed and gotten an A in the same class based on a teaching style that aligned with my learning style. The impact can be profound. I’m a professional trainer in the corporate world and carry with my my own checkered academic past coupled with a knowledge of why things sometimes didn’t go the way I hoped. I connect with my own trainees to find a way that the things they need to learn to succeed in their roles are presented in a manner that best suits their learning style.

My educational technology philosophy centers on using technology for the purposeful application of knowledge to enhance learning, encompassing both hard technologies (tools and systems) and soft technologies (pedagogical strategies and design processes). Grounded in constructivist and experiential learning, I emphasize that meaningful learning occurs when well-designed instructional practices are amplified—not replaced—by technology. I prioritize accessibility, inclusivity, and bias awareness through universal design principles, while leveraging technology to foster human connection and engagement. Ultimately, my approach is evidence-informed and focused on creating equitable, effective, and learner-centered experiences that keep the human element at the core.
